My first Close To You shawl wasn't exactly a failure. It's a great pattern, it was just that the colours of the yarn I used weren't really 'me' once it was knitted up. But this yarn from Ewe & Ply in Shrewsbury looked a much better match.

There isn't really a lot to add to what I said in my previous post about this project. But here is a better photo of beaded section, post-blocking.

I love the way the colours of this yarn work with the pattern. There are a couple of pools of gold, but mostly it appears in streaks, giving an almost watercolour effect.
