And I'm so glad you mentioned the ease with which Kate Winslett saunters into town carrying a great piece of cast iron in a plywood box in one hand and a very full suitcase in the other. Oh - and a handbag.sewingatdamgate.wordpress.comhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12099535256944875638noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4102653746369917661.post-21086892331694496632018-03-13T20:59:41.669+00:002018-03-13T20:59:41.669+00:00You're welcome Jean. Initially I used the machine with a clothes peg clamped onto the wheel as a 'handle'!Black Tuliphttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00399472362773743743noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4102653746369917661.post-8807977105492829492018-03-13T20:58:36.666+00:002018-03-13T20:58:36.666+00:00Thank you Cate. It would've been lovely to see you. Well done for rescuing that beautiful Singer, what a find! I used to have one, which was probably from the 1930s, and one in its original table, but had to sell them when I was really broke. I will definitely replace the hand crank one at some point as its such a lovely thing to own. Enjoy yours! xxAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08106899252606137869noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4102653746369917661.post-58641994729399001282018-03-12T23:36:14.363+00:002018-03-12T23:36:14.363+00:00Thanks for the memory my Mum had a 1953 Singer wit...Thanks for the memory my Mum had a 1953 Singer with the green case I learnt how to sew on this one I think the tricky bits were mush easier with a hand machineJean Lennonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15447256465722971554noreply@blogger.com
