The belt is pending - I deliberately cut the dress out in a way which leaves enough fabric to make one, but I'm a) looking for a red buckle and b) trying to find examples of belts with buckles from that period. Most of the CC41 examples I've found had tie belts, presumably to conserve metal for more important things. xxBlack Tuliphttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00399472362773743743noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4102653746369917661.post-47064791944894761172017-09-26T17:04:31.729+01:002017-09-26T17:04:31.729+01:00A beautiful dress indeed, you just can't beat ...A beautiful dress indeed, you just can't beat a bit of ric rac detailing. Me being me would add a bright red belt too, but then I can never go without a belt! xxAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08106899252606137869noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4102653746369917661.post-37633557370714777402017-09-25T20:52:28.039+01:002017-09-25T20:52:28.039+01:00Thank you Kate. Mum told me that if fabric appeared in the shops you had to move fast and buy it - without worrying about anyone else having the same thing!Black Tuliphttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00399472362773743743noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4102653746369917661.post-38313439136410373852017-09-25T11:54:34.957+01:002017-09-25T11:54:34.957+01:00Really interesting as usual and the dress looks lo...Really interesting as usual and the dress looks lovely. I like how your mum and her friends are all wearing the same pattern pretty much. And you can't beat a placket with poppers - so much nicer than a zip. sewingatdamgate.wordpress.comhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12099535256944875638noreply@blogger.com
